Certification DIN EN 15085-2, level CL1

Highest level of quality and safety when welding rail vehicles

SPALECK GmbH & Co KG has successfully passed the highest certification level CL1 in accordance with DIN EN 15085-2. This makes it an approved specialist company for welding highly safety-relevant components of rail vehicles.

Special manufacturing expertise required

As these components are important for the safety of the vehicles, companies in Europe must be verifiably qualified and certified to manufacture them. The basis for this is the European standard DIN EN 15085-2 “Railway applications – Welding of railroad vehicles and components – Part 2: Quality requirements and certification of welding companies”.

Jörg Halladin, welding engineer and responsible welding supervisor at SPALECK: “Welding in rail vehicle construction places high demands on quality due to the continuous dynamic loads and the applicable safety requirements. At the same time, we have a duty to ourselves and our customers to work efficiently. Care and appropriate expertise are therefore absolutely essential for the production of these parts.”

New construction, conversion and maintenance of rail vehicles and their components

With the successful certification according to level CL1, SPALECK is consistently expanding its manufacturing expertise for rail vehicles.

“We have been certified to the second-highest certification level CL2 of DIN EN 15085-2 since spring 2014. This already allowed us to weld unpressurized containers without special test pressure and simple add-on parts for rail vehicles, among other things. Now that we have achieved the highest certification level CL1, we can also offer our customers welded components for the new construction, conversion and repair of entire rail vehicles and their components,” says Christian Schleif, Sales Manager of the Metal Processing division.

Certification benefits all SPALECK customers

SPALECK therefore offers a very special level of production and quality not only to customers in the railroad sector. Schleif: “Every single customer benefits directly from certification in accordance with DIN EN 15085-2, as it documents mechanical engineering at the highest level. Whether it’s our metalworking division or the production of Precision parts, including 3D coordinate measurement: SPALECK stands for maximum quality. And has been for five generations.

AutoCLEAN was developed in the SPALECK Test Center and with and for real recycling applications. The system has been tried and tested in practice and shows optimum results in real recycling plants. We will be happy to provide you with specific references and results for specific materials and applications on request.

The easiest way is to test your original material in the SPALECK Test Center. Alternatively, we offer you the option of inspecting reference systems. In both cases, you can see how AutoCLEAN behaves with your material and what positive effects AutoCLEAN has on the treatment process.

AutoCLEAN aims to reduce operating costs in the Recycling process – in particular through less cleaning effort, optimized production and treatment processes and optimal use of screening technology. In many applications, this results in rapid economic benefits.
