Applications for Vibratory feeders

What are Vibratory feeders used for?

Vibratory feeders are used for

  • Sponsor
  • Dosing
  • Distribute
  • Comparative
  • Feeding sorting devices such as NIR sorting devices
  • as a bunker discharge chute, e.g. for Input hoppers

We would be happy to advise you on how you can make the best use of Vibratory feeders in your business!

Robust technology for demanding applications

Application example

If a Vibratory feeder is used as a bunker discharge chute in the recycling industry, for example, it is often exposed to extreme forces and stresses. Your new SPALECK Vibratory feeder is therefore designed to be very robust and durable. They can also be optionally equipped with easily replaceable wear plates made of Hardox or similar. This steel design offers you very low maintenance requirements and protects you from unscheduled downtime.

Choosing the right Vibratory feeder

How do I find the optimum Vibratory feeder?

To find the optimum Vibratory feeder for your application, the following information is important for selection and dimensioning:

  • Nature of the conveyed material
  • Delivery capacity or flow rate
  • Design requirements
  • Consideration of the installation environment
  • Integration into your existing or new system
  • If a Screening process is required when Sponsoring

Use in the pharmaceutical, chemical & food sectors

When do you use stainless steel Vibratory feeders?

Vibratory feeders made of stainless steel are used wherever hygiene, purity and cleanliness must be maintained, such as when conveying food or pharmaceuticals. Other applications include feeding to dryers, metered discharge or dust-tight transportation. For foodstuffs, the Vibratory feeders must also be food-safe.

Vibratory feeders made of stainless steel are therefore used in these areas of application. Thanks to the material properties of stainless steel, you benefit from many advantages, such as protection against contamination or harmful substances.

The GMP-compliant Vibratory feeders are also very quick and easy to clean. Benefit from our SPALECK ComfortLINE design here too. This reduces the maintenance and production costs of your end products.

Structure of a Vibratory feeder

Tailored to your application

As standard, our Vibratory feeders consist of a conveyor trough with a trough-shaped structure, a drive, an inlet, an outlet as well as the substructure and control unit. The individual components and their designs are optimally selected and adapted to your requirements. A bunker discharge chute for scrap, for example, is equipped with wear plates and flexible seals. On the other hand, a Vibratory feeder in pharmaceutical production can be designed to distribute powder in accordance with the ATEX standard and have a dust-tight cover. If long conveying distances need to be covered, the Vibratory feeders can also be connected in series. Of course, sensors for vibration monitoring can also be installed, which you can then use in conjunction with our SPALECK CONNECT technology. Depending on the application, we equip the Vibratory feeder with one of the following drive types:
  • Magnetic drive
  • Unbalance or vibration motor
  • Unbalance exciter
  • Multiple drive
Thanks to our innovative machine bearings, vibrations are transmitted only minimally to the foundation and the surrounding steel structure. This simplifies the integration or replacement of older no-name products.

Vibrating conveyors for conveying, dosing and leveling

What are Vibratory feeders?

Vibratory feeders are machines that are used for conveying, dosing and leveling bulk materials, raw materials and recycling materials of all kinds. They are an important component of production plants or recycling plants. They are available in normal steel as well as stainless steel in a food-safe GMP design. The aim is to transport the product over short to medium distances. Depending on the area of application, low conveying capacities up to conveying capacities of over 500 t/h are required.

Typical materials

Which materials are suitable for conveying with Vibrating conveyors?

The range of products and materials that can be conveyed with Vibrating conveyors is almost unlimited. From A for waste to C for chemical products to Z for zinc residue, everything is included. In principle, SPALECK Vibratory feeders can be used to convey almost all free-flowing bulk materials in all particle sizes.

These include:

  • Construction and demolition waste
  • Shredder light fractions
  • Shredder heavy fractions
  • Industrial waste
  • Lightweight packaging (LVP materials)
  • Plastic powder
  • Fiberglass
  • MV Slag
  • Food
  • Pharmaceutical products

As your partner for Vibratory feeders, we offer you decades of experience in conveying and separating. Is your material not listed? We would be happy to advise you on the optimum vibratory conveyor technology for your material and process.

Functionality & technology

How does a Vibratory feeder work?

The functionality and technology of a Vibratory feeder can be explained as follows: Vibratory feeders are set into a constant, even vibration by a Magnetic drive or unbalanced motor, for example. This oscillating movement in the transport direction moves the bulk material on the surface of the Vibratory feeder. The aim can be, for example, to feed the product to the next production step with the help of the Vibratory feeder. In the area of food production, for example, this can be a control screening machine. In slag recycling, special Vibratory feeders are used, for example, between a screening machine and a magnetic separator. Vibratory feeders are characterized by the very gentle and even conveying of the material.
